The Muse claimed William at a young age. When asked if his parents made him practice piano, he says "no, they had to make me stop!" Not even Academia (B.F.A. California Institute of the Arts) could quench his 'freak fire'.
And like Persephone, personal tragedy dragged him kicking and screaming into the Underworld at a young age. He was lost there for too many years, but eventually found his way back to the Land of the Living. There he wandered as an alien and stranger upon the earth for too many more years, struggling to make sense of what he had experienced.
His wanderings took him to many realms: entrepreneur, musician, corporate America (including technical writer at IBM and programmer at Microsoft on the C++ team), musical instrument builder, college mathematics instructor, martial arts instructor (Kenpo), translating the New Testament from the original Greek — and although they each have their beauty (and darkness), none of them was Home. And in his wanderings he was enchanted by the glass armonica — a musical instrument invented by Benjamin Franklin, which William has played professionally (including performances at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and at the Hollywood Bowl with the Blue Man Group).
William currently dwells on the outskirts of Los Angeles, and just outside the gates of the Palace of Nowhere.
